Host Guide
📅 Before the Event
- Choose an R&R date
- Enter your availability on https://scheduling.thetowntennis.club/
- Confirm with Chioma/Theresa
- Recruit feeders by posting in the Host & Feeders WhatsApp channel
- Confirm staffing:
- 4-6 feeders for 2 courts
- 6-9 feeders for 3 courts
- Coordinate ball pick-up with fellow hosts or post in the Hosts & Feeders Channel in the WhatsApp group
🎾 During the Event
- Arrive 10 minutes early to setup
- Start warm-ups within 10 minutes of official start time
- warm-up option: Around the World, Cardio Tennis, or Dynamic warmups
- Keep Warmup to around 5-10 mins
- After warm-ups, facilitate introductions:
- Go around and have everyone say name, pronouns, and location
- Optional: quick icebreaker (e.g what’s your favorite tennis court to play at)
- Number off players e.g for a 2 courts, number 1 - 4 and for 3 courts, number 1 - 6
- If there are new players, explain & demo how R&R works (feeders can help with this)
- Manage flow & timing:
- Keep basket and rotations starting/stopping together (work with feeders)
- Rotate numbered players each round and also rotate your feeders so other feeders can step in and feed each round
- Music encouraged, it keeps things upbeat and members tend to enjoy it
- Group Photo:
- Take one after the 3rd basket
✅ After the Event
- Collect all balls and equipment
- Coordinate returning balls to Theresa or hand off to next host
- Share pics in TTTC content channel & thank feeders 🙌🏾
⚡ R&R Rounds
- Round 1 — Forehand Cross-Court
- Round 2 — Backhand Cross-Court
- Round 3 — Forehand Open Court
- Round 4 — Backhand Open Court
- Final Basket (if time allows):
- Fast Basket: high-tempo or game-style feed
- Level Split: stronger players grouped for a faster pace
